MEET THE PRINCIPAL
CARLEY HARP
Principal, Binkley Elementary School
Carley Harp is a proud Sonoma County native, born and raised in the Rincon and Bennett Valley areas. After earning her undergraduate degree from Chico State, she returned home to attend Sonoma State University, where she obtained her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Carley spent 17 years in the classroom, teaching students in grades 4 through 9, before transitioning into educational leadership. She began her administrative career as an Assistant Principal in the Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District and went on to serve as Principal of Penngrove Elementary School for three years.
Carley lives in Rohnert Park with her husband, Lance, and their two children, ages 15 and 12. Carley also has two bonus kids, ages 23 and 26 who have flown the coup. Married for 15 years, the Harp family enjoys camping together and spending time outdoors. Carley has a deep appreciation for nature and values time spent outside as a way to recharge and connect.
A strong advocate for educational equity, Carley is deeply committed to ensuring that every student and family is seen, valued, and heard. She believes equity must be at the foundation of all educational decisions and actions. Her passion is rooted in the belief that all humans deserve dignity, respect, and the opportunity to thrive.
Carley is thrilled to be joining the close-knit community of Binkley Elementary and looks forward to learning, laughing, and growing together as a team.
