Dear RVUSD Families, The PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) from Sunday, October 25 through Tuesday, October 27 will now affect more of our schools and neighborhoods than previously announced. We are expecting the event to alter school learning on Monday and Tuesday only. This shutoff event is now expected to affect Austin Creek, Sequoia, Madrone, Binkley, Whited and RVCS-Sequoia schools. Therefore, if the power shuts off, all students from all school sites will do their learning from their recently distributed PSPS packets. There will be no live instruction on Monday and Tuesday. We will be sending out more information soon regarding when PSPS packets will be collected and also what families can expect instruction to look like on Wednesday. Extended Care: Students in Austin Creek and Sequoia Extended Care programs will report to Spring Creek on Monday and Tuesday. Binkley, Whited and Madrone Extended care students will be housed at Village on Monday and Tuesday. We thank our staff for quickly adjusting plans and spaces to make this possible. We thank all of you for your continued understanding and support. We know that we must continue to keep safety as our number one priority.

Dear RVUSD Families, PG&E has notified us that it is preparing for a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) from Sunday, October 25 at 4:00pm, through Wednesday, October 28, at 12:00pm. This shutoff event is expected to affect Austin Creek, Sequoia and RVCS-Sequoia schools. The Extended Care programs from Austin Creek and Sequoia will remain open and occur at the Spring Creek campus. PIZZA FRIDAY! Come to any RVUSD school site this Friday, October 16th and pick up a 16" pizza meal, plus breakfasts-that's 20 meals FREE! Also, don't forget to ask for meals for Saturday and Sunday. Take and Bake Pasta Meals available every Wednesday during the month of October . Please visit your nearest RVUSD school location to pick up your free take and bake pasta meal..you will receive one large container of prepared pasta with red sauce (meat sauce optional), one large container of garden salad, 10 breadsticks, 10 breakfast items and a variety of fruit. You can also pick up extra meals to go, just ask the cook when you arrive at the school location. We are serving meals daily from all RVUSD locations during the hours of 11:30-1:30 PM. Comidas de pasta para llevar y hornear disponibles todos los miércoles durante el mes de octubre. Visite la escuela de RVUSD más cercana para recoger su comida de pasta para llevar y hornear gratis ... recibirá un recipiente grande de pasta preparada con salsa roja (salsa de carne opcional), un recipiente grande de ensalada, 10 palitos de pan, 10 productos para el desayuno y una variedad de frutas. Dear RVUSD Families, Free student meals are now being served at the following school locations: Sequoia, Whited, Madrone, Matanzas, Binkley, Village, and Spring Creek. Austin Creek families please pick up your meals at any of the above locations…Austin Creek will be reopened for meal service on 10/7/20. Due to closures some menu items may change…our staff is happy to help you. Dear RVUSD Families, Meal service will resume 10/2/20 at Village Elementary. Please visit us at our drive up location at 900 Yulupa Ave during the hours of 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM on Friday October 2nd to receive a hot meal or cold items for the weekend. For lunch on Friday we will be serving you a choice of turkey hot dog, cheeseburger and fries or a protein pack for the vegetarian option. Multiple weekend meals will also be available if requested. We are serving student (0-18 aged children) meals to all families in our community regardless of your home school location or district of enrollment. _______________________________________________________________________ Estimadas familias de RVUSD, El servicio de comidas se reanudará el 2 de octubre del 20 en Village Escula. September 29, 2020 Here are a few more RVUSD updates as we move through this week: School (Distance Learning) will be canceled for the remainder of this week. We will use this time to assess the health and safety of our staff and families. With so many families evacuated and trauma levels so high within our community, we must give time to repopulate and recover. This is a timeline that none of us can control. We will have an additional update to you by the end of this week, once we know more about the situation. This update will include a timeline/process for resuming Distance Learning. We will also have a cleaning timeline for our campuses so teachers and staff can return to campuses to work on site. If conditions allow, we will begin serving free meals to families starting on Friday, October 2nd. We will be serving meals from Village Elementary. Look for more information coming to you soon. Over the last couple of weeks we have sent home PSPS packets and/or learning plans. If you would like to jump into those packets/learning plans, please feel free to do so. However, there is no obligation or expectation at this point in time that this work be completed. Due to the quickly evolving fire threat to our district we will be closing school for Monday September 28th. Please stay safe.
