Dear Village Families, Thank you all for your patience as we work through the glitches of Distance Learning. In addition, we want to give you information about reporting attendance. If your student can’t attend class due to technical issues, please call the RVUSD Tech Hotline: 542-7375 x.1005 For any absence, please call the Village Elementary Attendance Line: 707-545-5754, then press 1. Absences include: Illness Family emergencies Rolling blackouts or PSPS Evacuations Planned absences such as vacation* *Please understand that any planned absences for vacation or family outings, are considered unexcused even if you let your teacher know. Daily attendance is a State mandate. Even though we are Distance Learning, the school is still responsible to the State for attendance as if the children were on campus. All student absences must be reported through the Attendance Line or they will be considered unexcused starting this week. Thank you so much for your support, and please let us know if we can support you or your child with attendance in any way!

Dear Village Families, This week has been a challenging one for our community as we faced an unprecedented pandemic start to the school year, electrical storms, power outages, and fires in uncomfortably close proximity to our community and our school. Add to that scheduling, Zoom, and ChromeBook challenges--not to mention the day-to-day challenges that so many of us face. What a week! As happens when our community faces challenges, it is an opportunity for us to come together, support one another, and demonstrate our resolve and perseverance. Please take extra time this weekend for lots of hugs and fun activities for your children and loved ones, to appreciate the strong and supportive community we live in, and, of course, to review your home safety and emergency plans to ensure you are prepared for whatever comes our way. This week has also brought a sense of excitement to us all as we come back together as a learning community, as you and your children met your teachers, and as we all began the new school year. Despite the weather, I certainly had a wonderful time on Monday meeting so many of you and cheering you on to the new school year! Also, the start of this odd school year was not without glitches, and I whole-heartedly thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigated through it all! A Few Important Updates: Back to School Night is postponed until THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3rd! Join me for Coffee with the Principal the last Friday of each month. Our first date is Friday, August 28 at 9:00.
