PARCEL TAX INFORMATION
PARCEL TAX "MEASURE H" INFORMATION
On November 8, 2016, the Rincon Valley community voted in favor of renewing the current $96 parcel tax for 12 years, with annual increases of $3. This measure renews the community’s commitment to great local schools by enhancing computer and technology education, maintaining libraries, preserving classroom and instrumental music programs, and supporting science programs.
Measure H funds the entire music program in Rincon Valley schools. Music is an integral part of the high-quality educational program provided by the District. A general vocal and instrumental program is offered to students in kindergarten through 2nd grade. Students in 3rd grade are provided their first instrumental experience and in 4th through 6th grade, students are given the opportunity to join performing groups such as choir, band and orchestra. Measure H also supports the Rincon Valley Marching Royals, who perform annually in the Santa Rosa Rose Parade and routinely take home the blue 1st place ribbon.
Measure H supports libraries, technology and science labs. Each of our schools house a 21st century library for our students. The District provides teacher training and follows a technology program designed to teach students the concepts and skills they need to succeed. Along with the District’s educational foundation, Measure H provides each school with a science lab to promote Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) instruction in our schools.
None of these funds will be spent on district administration. All of the funds raised by Measure H are spent in our local classrooms.
